S has been reading books by James Herriot, a best selling author who wrote about his vet practice in the country in the late 1950s, before all the modern medicine came in.

If you haven’t heard of him.. well.. you should look up some of his books. They are very heartwarming and will bring a smile to your face. He writes about looking after sheepdogs to Pekingese in Yorkshire, UK.

Here are some of the books that he had written

  • If Only They Could Talk
  • It Shouldn’t Happen to a Vet
  • Let Sleeping Vets Lie
  • Vet in Harness
  • Vets Might Fly
  • Vet in a Spin
  • James Herriot’s Yorkshire
  • The Lord God Made Them All
  • Every Living Thing

He even wrote some children’s books as well

  • Moses the Kitten
  • Only One Woof
  • The Christmas Day Kitten
  • Bonny’s Big Day
  • Blossom Comes Home
  • The Market Square Dog
  • Oscar: Cat About Town
  • Smudge’s Day Out

And after reading one of his books, S did a google… and guess what? She discovered that James Herriot, aka James Alfred Wightand I have something in common.

Do you know what it is??????

Quick make a guess???!!!!

And given that it’s less than a month to my birthday, S is hoping to plan something for my birthday.. and she even took to reading this book!
